Merry Christmas & Happy New Year 2014

What's New in 2011?

WoW! It's 2011 already.
Year 2010 was quite productive year for me. I managed to design and publish total of 5 designs:
1. Garden Path Shawl (crochet)
2. Bella Shawl (knit)
3. Sage Cardigan New version (knit)
4. Gathering Leaves Shawl (crochet)
5. Metropolitan Shawl (knit)

Thus, its more than my target, which is only 3 designs a year.

I got several designs that I started in year 2010 and never make it to final yet. If you remember my old posts, I mention about designing crocheted bolero. I had already started drawing the diagram, but somehow I never able to finish it.
Beside this bolero, I also have 2 knit shawls (Poison Ivy and Something Grey) and 3 crochet shawls (Cassandra, Blue Lagoon, and Almost Pinnaples) that are still in process of writing. I hope I can publish them all this year.

Thank you so much for all your support by buying my patterns all these years.

Miniature Gallery

My brother has a small shop back in Indonesia. Actually it is belong to my parents but he rent it from them. He sold magazines, stickers, jigsaw puzzle and stuff. The last time I went there, I saw that he imported some interesting miniature DIY items. I brought back some but never got a chance to do it. I still don’t, however, somehow my husband got the urge to do it when he was on leave recently. Thus, this is the result:

Not very neat since the whole things only measures 8” x 7” and need very delicate finger to do it, and his finger just not suitable for these things. LOL! However, if you look from a far, it still looks pretty.

I still have several more with different theme. One of them is fabric shop. Too bad there is no yarn shop available.

Moved

In the beginning of September, I moved to new house. That is why the last couple of months I was so busy that I barely got time to knit or crochet. We got too many stuff to move that made my head spin. Most of my stuffs are baby things. Lauri got so many toys. I already donated and threw away some of her toys, but she still have plenty left. The last time I moved 7 years ago, I only had little things to move. I did not know that having additional 2 littles ones can multiply my things so much.

To make it worse, my in-law got a lot more things than me. So combine together, our stuffs make the movers fainted. We were starting to move from noon until almost midnight. Even then, we only managed to put the furniture in place, but didn’t manage to open one single box. I was too tired and just managed to put the bed ready to sleep on. Even until now (2 months later), the house still looks untidy and there are still a few boxes have not opened yet. There are so many things that I want to do, and yet I don’t have enough time to do it. I guess I have to do it one at a time.

Knitting Pattern-A-Day Calendar

About a year ago, Susan Ripley contacted me and asking me whether I wanted to submit any of my patterns to Knitting and Crochet Pattern-A-Day Calendar. Since I can submit my existing pattern and still selling it in my website, I thought “why not”. So, I submitted my Lauri Dress knitting pattern for 2010 calendar. I forgot all about this until yesterday night I received notification email saying that I won the second prize winner! True enough, when I went to their website, I saw this:

As a second winner, I am about to get USD 250,- check from them. I can’t wait to get the check and the free calendar. If you order the Knitting Pattern-A-Day Calendar, don’t forget to check my Lauri Knitting Pattern on 15 March page.

Happy Birthday To Me

Nothing fancy, I celebrated my birthday with hubby and my daughters. My hubby cooked for me and Lauri sang happy birthday song and kiss me. This year is final year of my thirties decade. Next year is the beginning of my forties era.

Happy Valentine's Day

Five years ago Valentine’s Day also fell on Saturday. I remember this because that day was the day I found out that I was pregnant with Lauri. I remember vividly like it was just yesterday. Hubby just got back from his half day work and gave me my Valentine’s roses. I asked him to buy test pregnancy kit for me. My period was late almost 2 weeks but it was nothing usual. However, since I had to go overseas the following week, I wanted to make sure that I was not pregnant. It turned out that I was pregnant.

Look her now! Almost 5 years old already. How time flies.

Fiori also got a rose from Papa

Ravelry

Oh look! There is new group in Ravelry that is using my sketch of Dahlia Top and also my photo as their banner. The group called Designers and Crafters Working Together.

I am very flattered. When they asked permission to use my sketch and photo, I thought they also used others as well, I didn't know that they only used mine.

Starting middle this month, I also tried to put my ad in Ravelry. Since the rate is very cheap, I think I should try it. I had no experienced putting an ad, thus this was something new. At first I linked it to my Etsy Shop, however, in the end I decided to link it here so I could check whether the Ad resulted to sales or not.

Hubby: Emmm..... (thinking)
Me: Nevermind. I got your credit card number. So, I can order whatever I want.
Hubby: Hah!
Hahahahahaha! So, I ordered some yarn online and also crochet book from YesAsia.

Don't you love this?

Have you seen Knitty Fall 2007 edition? I love Cherie Amor! It's a type of design that I love to knit. However, most probably I will modified it so I can use lighter weight yarn. It's too bulky to wear in tropical country.

I Am Excited!!

Remember my complain in previous post? Payloadz freezed my FREE account because my sales already reached US100 within 30-days period. They asked me to upgrade to the next level, which have to pay USD 15/month. Well, I decided not to upgrade and send my pattern manually instead.

Yesterday, somebody from E-Jungky e-mailed me, and offered me a free trial for their services. For 2 years!!!!! I went to their website to look. I saw that they do have a free trial, but only for 1 week. Confused, I emailed that person back, and said that I could not find the free for 2 years service. You know what she said? She said that that offer was especially for ME!!! Wow! I was so flattered and excited.

I saw in their price list they are more reasonable than Payloadz (see E-Junky price list here, Payloadz price list here). Their next level (after the 1 week free trial) is only USD 5 monthly fee, this is limited for 10 downloaded patterns and 50 MB hosting space, but they are not limit your sales like payloadz. Thus, I think this is more worth it.

If you subscribe my blog, I am so sorry that you have to see my “Pattern for Sale” posts again, as I have to change the setting. I hope this is the last change.

If any of you interested in E-Jungky free trial, Robin (the E-Junky developer) offers not only 1-week trial, but 3-months free trial, especially for you. Just plug in the code “iknit” in promotional code box when you sign in.

My Blog View from Firefox

I finally managed to fix my blog. If you use Firefox, you probably saw that my blog a bit messy. The left side overflowed to the main page.

I didn't know this until somebody told me that problem, and I don't know how to fix that problem since I could not see it myself. Until another person told me the my blog looks OK if the browser is Internet Explorer, but not OK if the browser is Firefox. Then I quickly downloaded Firefox and fixed the problem.

If you notice I also put new blog banner :)
