I have a weakness on dress or top with empire waist cutting, it makes me look slim. Specially if it’s flair out on the bottom part. Combine with belled sleeves, and we have a winner.
You can make this top with cotton thread or yarn and it will be excellent for summer. Or you can make this with wool, wear it like a jacket and it’s perfect for Fall.
You can wear with a jeans, or you can wear it with a skirt for formal occasion. This top is must for your wardrobe.
This pattern is worked from top down, so you can try it as you go. Also this pattern will show you step by step how to incorporate your own measurement into the pattern. So it will fit you nicely.
This pattern comes with row-by-row written direction in US crochet term and charts.
Sizes: Custom fit
Needle: Your favourite needle. I use size 3.5 mm or US size E - 4
Yarn: Thread, fingering weight or lace weight or any yarn available. I used Cannon Thread size 8 (9 balls)
Yarn requirement: enough for your project
Thread: For size S (M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL) needs 1750 (1925, 2100, 2275, 2450, 2625) meter
Yarn: For size S (M, L, XL, XXL, XXXL) needs 2200 (2420, 2640, 2860, 3080, 3300) meter
Notion: Tapestry needle, 6 buttons (4 fancy and 2 plain), marker
Gauge: Variable
Difficulty: Experienced
Note: Since I always like the clarity of Japanese pattern in symbol, I would like also to use those symbol into my pattern beside the normal english written instruction. You can choose which one you prefer, but I suggest to use both.

I'll say it again, very pretty!!!
Btw, could I make a correction on the Cannon thread, its size 8 and not 5... though I'm not sure if its comparable with some other size 5 thread?... I also edited its weight on Ravelry, since I believe its light fingering/ 3 ply.
What a great job!
So pretty Lily, you realy have a good taste, CONGRATS! :)
That's absolutely stunning! I wish I had your talent for garment design.
This is so beautiful! Only trouble for me - I wouldn't want something quite so lacy over my tummy - is there a way I could continue the stitch from the top of the sweater to the bottom?
Also, I think this would look almost as beautiful as a sleeveless sweater!
What stunning work you do! I would love to wear any of your designs, I am a knitter not a crocheter. :(
You've been tagged!

hello Lily,
I love your patterns! I just purchased the Sage Cardigan and the Orchid blouse But I have a little problem.... when I was saving the files the browser window vanished before I could download Orchid! I think my PayPal ID is LavishMango if you need it.

Hi! I'm visiting Penang just after christmas and I was wondering if you could recommend any knitting places/yarn stores? Not sure if they have this sort of thing in Penang, but I am a knitting enthusiast and would love to check out the local knitting sites!
Thanks for the info Lily! I am looking forward to seeing Penang. My husband is from there and it will be my first visit. Thanks again.

Ravelery site mentions that you've re-written the Dahlia top pattern with new collar and better gauge measurements. I purchased this pattern years ago, is there a way to know if I've got the re-written one? How can I purchase the new version?
let me know your email address, I will send the new version to you
Hi, Is your Dahlia Top Crochet pattern still available? I'd like to download it.
Hi Kikiwi. Yes, it is still available. Once you paid, you will get the link to download the pattern. And if you are a member of Ravelry, you can find your pattern in your library as well.
Hi, Absolute lovely pattern. I have some cotton thread 10 in my inventory that I would want to use. Would that really work with this project? Thanks.
Yes, it will work just fine.
