FO: Rendezvous Shawl

This is the first shawl I made using the yarn that hand-dyed by my husband. However because of the process editing and testing took longer time, I published Piquant earlier.
When I designed this pattern, I though it will be lovely in this bold solid color, so I requested him to dye this color for me. Since this pattern is my design and using his hand-dyed yarn, I think Rendezvous seems to be a very suitable name.

This yarn has excellent yardage. At first I make 8 repeats size, halfway through, I realized that I probably could make 9 repeats size with this yarn. So, I frogged the whole thing and started all over again.

FO: Piquant Crocheted Shawl

It's been a long time since I have a crochet FO. So, I think it's about time to have one now, isn't it?
Let me show you my latest crocheted shawl that I made using my own hand-dyed yarn (well, actually my husband who dyed this yarn), I called this shawl Piquant.

This shawl have interesting structure and very quick to crochet. I really really love the result. Plus the yarn is so soft and buttery so it added the enjoyment of the crocheting process.

New Group in Ravelry

After more than 6 months thinking about it, finally I braved myself to create my own group in Ravelry. Several people suggested to me 6 months ago, but I am too afraid to do it. First of all, I am afraid that nobody will join in. Second, I am afraid that I won't be able to maintain the group, and it will die like many groups that I know of.

However, 3 days ago, I don't know what came into me. Suddenly, I found myself open my own group in Ravelry. As today I got more than 700 members, so I guess my fear has no ground. Now, the only task is how to maintain the group in order not to die fast. I have several ideas in mind, something like crochet/knit along, mystery crochet/knit along, etc.

If you like my designs and a member of Ravelry, why don't you come and join me here.

Reminiscence Shawl Pattern for Sale

Reminiscence is a crescent-shaped shawl worked from the bottom up. I really enjoyed working on this shawl as the repeats are easy to memorize yet not boring. The lace pattern is on both RS and WS rows so there are no rest rows or purl rows. There are a few stitches that are new to me and are very interesting to knit.

Pattern includes charts and written directions, and stitch count totals for every row. I also include the number of stitches to cast on and the yardage for a different number of repeats.

Technical Editor: Chaitanya Muralidhara

Suggested yarn: Any sock yarn.
I used Wollmeise 100% Merino Superwash (Zarte Knospe color) 1 skein (150g, 574 yards) for 29 repeats (I only had enough yarn left to weave in and nothing more, so I suggest to do 28 repeats if you use same yarn).

Size Available: See table below

Finished size for 28 repeats: 163 cm (64.25”) wingspan, 49 cm (19.25”) depth

Level: Advanced

FO: Reminiscence Shawl

I am really really happy with the result of this shawl after blocking. I think I picked the right yarn for the right pattern. The yarn really showcases the texture of the pattern well.
I wore this shawl several times already and it stays put on my shoulder without a pin because of the shape.

I decided to name this shawl Reminiscence, because during the making of this shawl, my aunty passed away. She is my mother’s big sister. She used to play with me a lot when I was a little girl and I love to spend weekend at her house. When I heard from my mother the news that she passed away in her sleep, I could not help but to reminisce the past.

Now, about the details part:

Pattern: Reminiscence
Source: here
Materials: Wollmeise 100% Merino Superwash (Zarte Knospe color)
Qty: 1 x 150 gram (574 yards total).
Needles: Addi lace 3.50 mm
Start Date: 13 August 2011
Finish Date: 6 September 2011
Finished size: 163 cm (64.25") wingspan, 49 cm (19.25") depth

Reminiscence Shawl

This is my new shawl. Still in the unblocked state, but I will reveal how it looks like after blocking soon when I am ready to publish the pattern. It's been a long time since I published Liliiflora in May, so I think it's about time to publish new pattern soon.

This is my first time to use Wollmeise yarn. I must say that I love that yarn. I really feels like cotton, however since I love cotton, I really no complain about it. I will definitely use this yarn again soon!

My First Hand-dyed Yarn...Drum Roll Please....!

Taaa Daaaa ......

What do you think? Isn't it pretty?

Well, actually it's not hand-dyed by me. It's handyed by my other half. I am not a little bit interested in doing hand-dyed, but somehow my husband found it interesting and decided to try his hand on hand-dyed. At first I was a bit skeptical that he would be able to do it, but I must admit it now that he did a very good job.
